I was interviewed about my career for students who are interested in becoming fashion stylists. I receive many emails and phone calls about how to get started as a stylist, and my first tip is learn to sew! Follow an easy pattern to learn basic garment construction so you’ll know how to make alterations. For most clients, there is no such thing as ready to wear; instead, expect ready to alter. So enjoy this little video where I talk about my typical day, and offer some ideas to get you started such as begin by clearing out your closet and weeding through what you already have.
